No one, especially me, wants to think about anything except the Holidays right now. I’m away visiting with family, I’ll take a few days to enjoy old hobbies and explore some new ones, and I absolutely want to enjoy every minute of the season. So, this is NOT a call to action. This is a call to celebration.

I do want to take a minute to explain the 100 Days Challenge, to tell you what we’ve done, to tell you want we’re gonna do, and to tell what’s a little different for 2020.

The 100 Days Challenge is pretty simple, really. All you need to do is move – INTENTIONALLY – for 30 minutes every day for 100 days. Just move. You can run or walk, cycle or swim, Zumba or Yoga, walk your dog or chase your children. It doesn’t matter. You’ve just got to move – INTENTIONALLY.

It may sound impossible at first. I understand. 100 Days is a LOT of days. The truth is, however, that once you get started it gets easier and easier. You’ll find, as I have, that getting in those 30 minutes become the most fun challenge you’ve ever taken on.

This is not a training program. This is a lifestyle program. This is an invitation to make activity a part of your life. If you can be active for 30 minutes, great. If you can be active for 15 minutes twice, great. If YOUR life means that you have to be active for 5 minutes 6 times a day, GREAT.

What we’re trying to do is make activity a priority. It doesn’t matter what. It doesn’t matter when. All you have to do is find a way to be intentionally active for 30 minutes a day.

I’ve walked on the treadmill at 11:00 pm on days when I just about blew it. I’ve walked in country roads at 3:00 am and had folks turn on their lights and look out their windows at this strange man walking past their house. It can be done.

So that’s it. We’ll start officially on January 1, 2020. In the meantime, don’t forget to “like” the 100 Days Challenge Facebook page.
